Windows 7 Issues

Hey there, I have a question about Windows 7 compatibility: I recently exported a version of my game on Windows XP that was working perfectly right up until I tried playing it on my friend's Windows 7, and to my horror, when I aimed my character's gun up and to the left and pressed the shoot button, nothing happened, whereas every other direction and action was working fine. What's interesting is that this is the same direction that was crashing my game on my computer earlier on in my game's development, and although I found a workaround for the issue, I tried using the new and old configurations on Windows 7, and I am still unable to shoot up and left.
Has anything like this happened to anyone else, and if so, how did you address the issue?

The data file is over 150MB, and I would rather learn how to fix these types of issues myself. Have you ever had a problem like this before? Is there anything you can suggest?

It has to do with the keyboard, not with windows 7. The problem is when keys left and up are pressed, some keys won't work. This goes for many double key combinations. I'd switch the fire key to a, as at least it 'fixes' the problem on my keyboard.

So I tested it out with the shooting action mapped to 12 keys to see which one worked, and they all did, so apparently, my friend's keyboard doesn't like up, left and D being pressed at the same time. I'm not entirely certain why D is the only key that would not work in this context, but every other key surrounding it did, so I would say the problem is solved. Thanks.
