Talk about casual (e.g. iPhone or Flash games) that inspire you most.
Tell us what's so unique about them!

The gameplay is great, nice variety of levels, but most important of all: The artwork is done in one of the most admirable (and yet efficient) ways I've seen yet.
This style of game art definitely sets higher standards for pixel artists.

Cute, polished pixelish design, music that puts the icing on the cake, but the gameplay is genius, since you control two players at the same time and don't even notice
until the game gets hard. And when I say hard, I mean hard. I haven't been able to beat it fully yet. Tons of shoot'em up action, megaburps (yes, true :3 ), explosions and overall mayhem.

Generally Nitrome makes top notch flash games with unique gameplay. I've only named two, but you should definetely check out more of their games.

Chaos Faction 2 by Dissolute

For people who like punch'em'up games like Super Smash bros. (btw. this is not multiplayer, opponents are AI), this is where you can look at the real thing.
You got everything in this game: Hand-to-hand combat, weapons, explosions, traps, nature disasters, you name it. Also, you got a huge selection of worlds that you can unlock as you play.
The artwork (this time, vector based) is very handsome and what I liked most were the explosion / smoke animations. There's something so... satisfying about them.
WARNING: This game may not be appropriate for small children.

By the way, all the games I'm listing are more or less possible to code in GE. No fancy physics engine required.

Casual games seem more fun than hardcore games a lot of the times. I love Mario Bros more than Call Of Duty BO.

I agree, old school games seem to have more thought and originality put into them. Whereas today's games (like COD BO), just don't have that. Most companies nowdays just focus on giving games really good graphics. Which isn't a bad thing. But it would be nice if they actually put some thought into the originality of the game itself :D
