I design this huge game for my treo, only to find out that I have to buy it? I thought it was supposed to work on multiple platforms, but the free edition only exports for windows computer? thats like, stupid. If I wanted to program for windows, I'd use gamemaker. In fact, I DO use gamemaker. It's way easier to use than game editor, with a interface that works a lot smoother. I'd never use game editor period unless I wanted to make something for a phone, but oops. I have to buy it. I think that gamemaker was much better use of my money.

edit: sorry if my thoughts aren't strung together right, but I'm pretty upset that I wasted 7 hours of my thanksgiving and have this happen to me again

You should do more research on tools that suit your needs before starting to complain for something that is your own fault (not checking for limitations of the free version beforehand). If you think GM is better to suit your game designing needs, then so be it, but you do not have to come here and bash Game Editor because of it, its a question of preference only. I bought my version of GE and all I do is export for Windows; is paying for something you really want to do such a big deal?

You also can't go around expecting to get everything you want for free... There are people whom have spent time writting the applications you use, its only normal that they may impose limitations of this kind to get people to buy so they can may some kind of profit off their work. In this case, we are speaking of the sole author of Game Editor, Makslane, to which we all owe great respect simply for creating this tool, let alone giving us a free version.

If you still feel this is stupid after reading this, then whenever you release this game of yours, IT BETTER BE FREEWARE, otherwise you would be in contradiction with yourself and it would show selfishness and greed.

Please take this into consideration.

And plenty of annoying limitations if I may say so. You'll find that GE is way more powerful ONCE you know the basics. And I have tried game maker... it's really a matter of someone's point of view and I'd better not express mine because it would sound downright unconstructive.

I bought GE a year or so ago and I still don't regret it. Seriously, simply check it out properly.

What a pity. We don't get any thanksgiving around here...
Anyway, welcome to the forums.
