If I'm not mistaken, it's not that MP3's won't work with GE, it's that MP3's are not supported because the people who hold the patent, charges anyone who uses it commercially. Makslane would have to pay if he included support for it in GE. If anyone used GE to make games for sale, they would also have to pay.

I notice ogg vorbis format is similar and good quality compared to MP3. It would be helpful if GE will support .ogg file for use as sounds, besides how it's used now as music. Do any of the other file formats for sounds compress better than .wav files? I desire small file sizes where possible.

When I resize a region of any type, it might help to have a little box (10 pixels X 10 pixels) in each corner of the region. This way the region has easy to grab handles.

-I imagine that if you left click drag a handle, it will not resize the region, but just move the region around.

-If you right click drag a handle, this would resize the region.

-If you right click on the spot, without dragging, then this will display the option box for the region.

Um... make a way so that u can purchace updates. Example: I buy Basic Pacage. Later a new update comes. Instead of buying a new basic pacage or upgrade pacage, make a way just to buy updates?

Makslane would have people putting off buying upgrades till they saw what they wanted; he'd make far less money. In essence, by waiting to upgrade, you'd be getting features for free that other people pay for. Hardly fair, i think.

Also, what Makslane needs to continue to work at Game-editor is a stable source of income. Without that, he would have to concentrate on other things like a day job, leaving less programming time.

I agree!

Unless... an update costs $5 or so, and you have to have the second most recent version in order to buy an update :? ...

Whatever... I personally like the pricing system just as it is...

Support for Ogg Vorbis at acceptable level of perfomance.

EDIt: sorry, what I mean is Ogg Vorbis for sound FX as well as music.

I'd like to have the option to change the name an actor after having created it and have all events targeted to it from other actors update to that new name.

Well I'm not really a GE user, but you really need to add all of that. Look at Game Maker (GM) - it can do (or has) all of these things already:

Make windows screensavers
Multiplayer games
Better documentation
More tutorials
Better support to RPG games
Particles support
Less script dependent
More user friendly interface
Better support to actor motions (find paths...)

Don't you know?
Some people are attracted to older, more experienced softwares.

Curse them and their binary persuasions! *overly dramatic* :)

There is the possibility that ScooterNew did his homework and is in a position to compare the two products in an educated manner for himself.

Having seen all the posts for this discussion, I'd say Makslane has quite a shopping list to choose from.
