I hope you are all well...

Ok, it has been my dream to make a 2d-avatar based chat for some time now. Simple stuff, like talk to people, whisper, go to different rooms, invite to different rooms etc etc. It will have a high level of interactivity with objects etc, and maybe play music...

Do you think game editor is the package for me? I've had a good look around (this project has actually been going for years now, the art is complete, the business plan is complete, the functionality is complete. Long story...we had the code for the chat (javascript) then we didnt. Long story. ;() but havent managed to find anything that is any good.

Kaneva was way too buggy (beta, I know). Gamemaker was a little too simple, and didnt have all the features i needed. Byond looked good, but you have to host the world within their own applet, which looks un-professional. Games factory didnt have multiplayer capabilities. The others were just poor.

Any advice concerning this would be greatly recieved. I know GE is really for 2d scrollers etc, but i thought it could handle my dream also. What do you think?

Thanks in advance, and take care all.

Kris:)

Thankyou so much for your quick responses :)

Its a big project anyway really, so time isnt an issue really. I'm going to keep an eye on GE for updates concerning multiplayer functions.

Thanks again, and take care.

Kris.
