Dark Hole Design Document Rough Draft

We are not releasing everything about the game, but we will make the design document for my game. This is the Rough Draft, and will be edited by Phyzix. We will take some suggestions, but will only focus on suggestions made by the crew of this game.
Random Fact- There is only one solar system. The other name for our star other than sun is sol. We name our system of planets, moons, and a star based off the star's name. That means that there are many planetary systems, but only one solar system. That means our planetary system has three names. The sun system, the sol system, and the solar system, and that also means that if the GJ176 has planets, the planetary system would be named GJ176 System.
Dark Hole
Genre and features
Space Shooter, Futuristic Fiction, that is third person, and is made with the Game Editor 1.5 engine. Includes Universal Exploration of the Milky Way Galaxy, the Whirlpool Galaxy, the Andromeda Galaxy, and maybe the Sombrero Galaxy. In each galaxy, there will be six planetary systems that can be explored, with various amounts of planets in each one. Also, a storyline is added in this game, and afterwards you are allowed to explore freely, and even buy your own planets. There will be a galactic currency system in each galaxy that is different from one another. The only game mode is the storyline and the exploration aspect. More will be added later as development goes on.
Experience and Limitations
We want our audience to feel like they have freedom in the game, feel like the graphics are a great aspect of the game, and also make them want to beat the game with a great storyline. Also, we want them to feel this game has high replay value, along with deciding to find out everything about this game. This game is only a single player game with no online capabilities. So the elements I want to be strongly focused on is the storyline, the graphics, and the aspect of being able to control where you go, with the exception of being contained in the limited amount of planetary systems, and the limited amount of galaxies.
Look and feeling
We want this to be as good as 3D as GE 1.5 can get. Let us use the scaling and rotation to our advantage. This is not a 2D game. This game has a simple control with only movement and attack buttons. There will be a few special moves that require energy though and a order of button presses. We want this to be a game that anyone can play and enjoy.
Game-play structure
We are going to structure the storyline by mini missions and big objectives. You have to complete some mini missions to move on with a big objective, or you complete a big objective which creates mini missions. Big Objectives are required for the storyline, but mini missions only have some value to the storyline, and not much of them have to be completed. We hoping to make a game with at least twenty hours and more hours of game-play (this counts for all mini-missions, all big objectives, fully exploring all galaxies, collecting all mission based items that can not be bought, fully exploring each planetary system, and fully exploring all planets. This does not include buying all the planets.
Resources and time
We are going to need a lot of programmers and graphic artists. We want ten people at least on the graphic artist team that includes the graphic director, the three galaxy directors, and the graphic producers. We are going to actually want five to ten programmers since this requires so much stuff such as a storyline, three different currency systems, and has three galaxies size worth of work. There also will need to be at least one sound producers, two music producers (one for planets and one for space, and a music director. Then there is the storyline director and a marketing manager. Other parts will be discussed later. Anything we forgot will be added on later. Credentials will be discussed later. This is a huge project, and counting the time to even get the crew, we am going to say it will take two to four years to finish.
Main roles in plot
The major character is a man in his mid thirties on a mission to explore the nearby planetary systems to collect data. While on his trip to the GJ176 system (another real planetary system) he sees an outline of this circle object. There was no signs of it being a black-hole, so he went towards it, even super close, it would not suck him in. Thinking he was just seeing things, he went through the hole, and appeared out the other side. Nothing seemed wrong, until he checked his GPS (Galactic Positioning System) and it lost signal. Later on, he encounters a group of ships that seem friendly at first, but when he gets close, they shoot at him. In desperation, he pushes the escape button which puts him in a pod and ejects him out where he is automatically drugged. The pod has a heat seeker and when it notices a great source of heat, it goes towards it, no matter what. That means you could crash into a star. Luckily for him, a planet fairly close to a young star is what the pod runs into instead. This is where the journey begins.
Audience
As for now, this is not known what the age group will be. We want people who are interested in games with great graphics and a good story-line to play this game. Also, we want people interested in space to play this game.
Possible devices to put game on
Quite possibly we may decide to put this on the apple market once finished, and the droid market, and with the help of a marketing manager.
Credentials
We want everyone on my team that is programming it to have some sort of knowledge of the universe science such as astronomy. Also, we would like to interview some people that are astronomers and astrophysicists to help us make this a bit more realistic and have the actual universe feeling to it.
This is subject to change and will be posted on several places.
