Btw I ordered my GP2X with a memory card from playasia and the US government charged me a twenty-one cent tariff on the SD card along with a five dollar fee to process the tariff.

wow. That's awful. I got my gp2x from a dealer here in the US. They even tested it before shipping to make sure it worked.

I dunno if I'm going to get this one, but it could happen. There's a new community driven gp3x in the works coming next year(?) that will blow this away according to leaked specs. I'll believe it when I see it, but many major gp2x developers are working on or excited about it.

I would much rather see some improvements on our existing gp2x ports before it gets expanded to more features... A Jack of ALL trades is a master of none...

I think the only change in this model is the touch screen. Same processor, same resolution, but is the same processor speed?

I think you are right, but put the touch screen support will be very fast.

That was the general consensus on the gp2x boards as of yesterday Nobody on the boards knows for sure yet. Supposedly it will be shown at some trade show soon, so we'll find out then. Odds are the new firmware will make it easy to add the touch screen stuff. The only other change is the dpad, which has to be wired the same way as the 8 way joystick is currently.

It's coming bundled with a bunch of homebrew games. None of the authors were contacted before the announcement, so none of the software has been changed in any way. They were slightly annoyed that nobody at GPH even told them or offered a discount or anything.
