Enjoy it!

Controls:
Move and jump with WAsD or arrow keys.
Throw ninja stars with Space.
Press Esc to return to menu or exit.

You can jump while sliding from walls or grabing a ledge.

Further instructions are in the game.

Objective:
Go up through the levels until you reach the top and escape to freedom (going to one side) to complete the game.
If the enemy shots hit you or you touch spikes, you lose (press Esc to return to menu).
When completing the game is no hardwork for you, try getting the 3 badges that unlock a special cheat each one.
Some levels can be trickier than they seem, so don't give up early.

EDIT: Attached project files.
With an extra project to give ideas.

I didn't make past the 2nd screen :( - a bit too difficult for me

My opinion:

Pros
- The game looks good. Nice retro style with limited color palet.
- The controls / mechanics feel good.

Cons
- Too difficult for me.
- When I die, the game is stuck

By the way, I love that the score is measured in pixels :D

Sorry for making it to hard >.<, only ninjas are chosen to beat the game :p. Thanks for your opinion. (When dying press Esc, maybe I should add an option to restart)

Thanks. Find more graphics at OpenGameArt.

Hey cool, you shared the ged! Now I can export a version that I don't have to worry about getting deleted from my computer automatically xD I'll play some more of this and then tell you what I think of it! :)
p.s. I see you named the fps actor after me xD

@Hares: Hey, nice to see you here! :)

Juansimat, the game pics look cool. Any chance this will be available for Mac and Linux also?

You have also the ged files attached to try the game. I tried to export to MAC and, even if it shows it like an export option, it doesn't export (1.4.1 beta). For linux it exports, but I can't test if works.

Okay, thanks, I'll take another look.

I'm kinda late, but better late than never, am I right?

First of all, this is an impressive game! It reminds me of Jumper 2 which is great that retro platformers are still going strong. I love the retro style graphics, music, and game difficulty. There's an issue where when we die, there's no retry.

Suggestions:
  • Add a tutorial or at least show how the controls work on the menu screen or place signs in the first level that show you how to wall jump, shoot shurikens, etc. I know the controls are self-explanatory and we could figure it out on our own, but I still suggest you add a tutorial or something to cover up the controls.
  • Also, there should be a clear time and attempts feature so that speedruns could be a thing. When applying this add a pause feature as well.
  • Checkpoints every 3 screens as I reached 3020 after like 6 attempts and I expected a checkpoint somewhere.
  • Show the score on the top left of the screen maybe?
  • Increase the small gaps' height. They are needlessly a pain to go through because the hitbox is too exact so I keep missing it when I'm not supposed to.

Welp this is all I can give and from what I saw in the ged, the game is still incomplete, right? If you want the game to be put in gamejolt, I'd advise you to make the game a bit longer or at least have a conclusive ending. Again, this is a great game so far! Congratulations Juan, hopefully you'll keep working on it! +1 for you, can't wait for future updates. :D

I have just played it now and I think it is a decent little platformer. I understand you got the graphics through OpenGameArt where did you get the Soundtrack? The Music is pretty decent Chiptune as well I'd say.

Thanks for the advice :3. I'll keep improving myself. Sorry for making it too hard to beat >.<

As I commented on discord time ago, and in other posts: I lack artistic skills so i'm unable to make anything decent, from audio to image, so I use the sounds from OpenGameArt as well. Yeah I searched chiptune and cc0 so I can have at least scratch.
