Opening demo games

Posted: Wed Aug 01, 2007 2:30 amRight-click on the file, go down and left click on properties, in the window that pops up, read where it says type of file, what does that say? please post your results. If it says winzip file or compressed folder, you will need to extract it first. If it says game editor file, then it is already extracted. If it says Application, then it is an exe file.

Posted: Wed Aug 08, 2007 1:59 amYou need to uncompress/extract the files with winzip or winrar. I think both applications are free for the purposes of uncompressing.
Also, I don't know if you will be able to open the .ged file if you are using a version of GE that is older then the version that created the .ged file you are trying to download.

Winzip isn't free. You can only get a 30 day trial.
Winrar is free though. Personally, I think Winrar is better.

Even after the 30day trial, it still works
