You could use the "booster" thing , you collect items on the track that fills up the booster gauge then you can use a boost.

Well, its little bit hard. You can make little lower physical respone with walls and make speed limit. So if yvelocity or xvelocity == 2, x or y velocity =2;

Put some music in the game.
