Getting gameEditor out there!

Now that game editors open source, we should try to get more people aware of it. I think a good way to do this would be to send an article about it to Make Magazine ( @ http://www.makezine.com). Submitting a one-page article about an open-source 2d game creation software would easily get into Make, because its all about DIY tech (hey, the main audience is college graduates 30-54, I'm sure some of them program in C/C++)

The best way to bring new users to ge is to released FINISHED GAMES!

Nothing will peak anyone's interest more than playing a game they like, and finding out they can make games like it themselves!

Get a pre-paid visa card at walmart or any other hundreds of stores like it. It works just like a credit card. Markslane needs all the money support he can get. Most of us are just leeches using the free version of the program which is just not right. I have purchased two versions of it so far.

That's not a bad thing at all. Anyone who contributes to the forum, anyone who posts games that help get more people interested in GE, is helping. It's good that they get to test out the software, and learn to use it, before they make an investment (and many users are younger and have a harder time coming up with the money for it).

The money to be made is in the commercial license, you have to buy GE before you make money off your game, right?
