We all have stuff we're doing besides GE. Here's where you share that kinda stuff, whether it's your other hobbies, your job, or just life in general.

If I recall, that was Camper.

As for me, hmm well, If I'm not using GE in all my free time (or on the computer in general), I'm probably helping out with my family's business. I also like to animate, usually with some form of stop motion, because I hate drawing the same thing over and over. (By stop motion, I mean literal claymation or paper animation.) Recently I've tried blender and unity, but haven't really stuck around with either one that much. I don't have a smartphone, facebook, twitter, and as of last year, no youtube. I know many engineers who do the same, and I intend to follow suit in those particular areas. I ironically, don't play that many games anymore since I've been busy making 'em. I do have to occasionally for inspiration.

I recently started messing around with blender also! Just modeling and texture though, I haven't messed around with the game part yet.

BTW, Blender isn't that great for games (at least not to my knowledge). But for game models, it's awsome :P

Yeah, in order to use blender's game engine you'd have to know a lot of python. There are examples of games that did use that engine such as Yo Frankie (I hear this was a massive team effort), but other than that, I'm not sure. You have to make sure, if you do get into modeling, that you use this first before you try anything else. Otherwise, you get quite confused. It handles quite differently than any other modeling package. It's worth it though, purely for the fact that it supports quads as well as tries. That can screw stuff up in the long run, during the whole tessellation process upon exporting.
I really don't do much 3D, I can visualize things better in 2D. I might pursue 3D in the future though.

Anyway, to divert this topic away from blender...

I also like free stuff, free samples, free trials, GNU...
I refuse to pay for something that has a sufficient open-source alternative. (The only exception being Windows) :P

All the people here make quite an interesting bunch, I must say.

I've seen some pretty rad games made with blender.. But my Scripting skills are very minimal.
It's just fun to mess around with 3D animation :)

@Master0500: Enjoy school while ya can. I know it might suck now, but once you are out in the real world you'll be missing it haha.

I have to do schoolwork, but that's boring to talk about.
I really like video games, but ironically I haven't hardly played any for months. I draw a lot, I've been drawing since I was 3. My style is leaning toward Manga, although I try to give it my own unique flavor. I can also do western style cartooning, but I usually use that for my comic one-liners.
Most of my free time though is dedicated to writing my fiction novel. I've been working on this for like three years. man, the first draft was awful :P
There are times where I can't wait to put a new idea on paper (or rather computer screen :P), but then there are those dry spells where it's the most boring thing in the world to try to write.
I also have a bit of an interest in 3D art *slapped*. Mainly because I think in 3D.
I've also been working on learning C to give me a bit of a head start since I'll be taking Gaming Technology in college.
That's about it I guess.
