Cool idea, wouldnt it be tricky because of the two screens?

BAD IDEA.

that wouldn't be tricky - the code has pretty much been worked out for the two display screens. what would be difficult is programming the touch screens.

apart from the fact that you would also need a flashable gameboy advance cart, nintendo ds flashable game cards don't exist yet - and i doubt people will be bothered to buy them for homebrew games other than the ones they create themselves.

also there are all the legal complications with nintendo's piracy policies and federal law.

yeah, but dont forget that you can download the nintendo ds from the internet! so, its pretty better then runing the copyrights laws.

great idea

The DS is a fun system that lends itself to inovative games and with all these home brew folks I'm sure this community can crank out some fun stuff.

On the other hand if it was between DS support or improving GE's features, bugs and ease of use, I would go with the improvements.

How about using the Wifi! Game could be download to the DS from a PC, the PC would need to emulate another DS in game link mode.

OR

Buy a GP2x!

I completely agree with this statement. Though the idea of DS support sounds really good I'd rather see engine optimisations and improvements to the current editor.

gp2x does not support wifi. plans have been made to use gp2x with sdiao cards but this is still very much into the future.

the fact that you can download emulators and roms for nintendo DS does NOT MAKE IT LEGAL. Roms may only be downloaded and stored on a hard drive should the person downloading actually owen the original copy. they are for backup use ONLY.

Homebrew for nintendo ds emulators has never been popular and the quality of the games has always been terrible. bear in mind that anyone who wished to benefit from homebrew games on their nintendo ds will first have to buy a ton of hardware in order to upload the game to the machine.

It's just not feasable. And forget it if you think nintendo are ever going to release their engine source code for less than 5000 in an sdk.

yeah, as everyone says, i would also vote for engine upgrade, GE is very strong right now, but I would like it better if it would be stronger!

I believe this is a great idea :)

Since I am not a programmer, I do understand some of it, it is hard to tell how easy or hard it is to implement.

But say you wanted a part of the screen to tear apart and combine for a dramatic style or even have an inventory on the said screen.

There are so many possibilities without having to press a key/button/mouse event to activate a load process.

Just use a mouse button to access your inventory or what you plan on it.

GREAT idea too, I think this would make ease of use a big leap :)

NOWAY

DS will not work.
There is no DS link hardware and new DS firmware prevents homebrew games anyways. :( :( :( :(
