I am still working in the game selection menu. I did not had to much time for coding these past days. I was thinking on a way for the menu to search the Documents folder and display the installed games. With the small set of file I/O fuctions in GE it wold be tricky but I think I already figured it out. I just need to get some time to sit down and try to see what is the result.

I got an idea from an nes emulator available for ipod touch, it has a menu that shows all the .nes roms in the /var/mobile/media/ROMs/NES directory. we could use something like that for the menu
I have some screenshots maybe you could look at some of the code from that or look for an uncompiled version?
The emulator is called nes4iphone and is available from the zottd repo

this may be a somewhat stupid question, but how is it possible to test ge games with xcode´s iphone-simulator?
i noticed it should work using geapp. but i realized i have to create provisioning profiles, there i have to
enter device id´s from devices i may have.

but since i dont have any i-devices, what can i do about this?
its all very new to me, sorry :)

The benefit for testing with iphone simulator is limited. The most important test is done with geplayer on device.
There u get a performance feedback. And thats what u need. Everything else can be tested with GE.

So we dont provide a geplayer/geapp for simulator. Would mean we have to compile for Intel plattforms also. This would mean we would have to provide
one more version of geapp/geplayer. And this in combination with iphone/ipad would result into much too much permutations.

My advise: Buy a ipod touch. This is the lowest price device u can get.

ok, makes sense.

ok so then on ipod touch i would use geplayer and not geapp for testing purposes?

would it be best to completely remove the beta ge from our computer before we buy the commercial version? and if so, would 'trashing' it be sufficient or are there more effective steps to removing it?
