StickMcGee - Blast to the Future

Talk about making games.

@Gameplay video:
Smooth animation, excellent variety of moves, fits the cool stickman game genre greatly. Maybe add a bit more in the background? And can't wait for those other epic planned features! (Time manipulation  )

Thanks man! The graphics you see in the video will not be in the actual game though, They're just placement art until my artist finishes more work. :)

The ceiling climb and wall jump/slide moves, nicely done! Looks like this will develop into a fun platformer. 8)
Did you use Switch State coding for the different moves or basic directional coding? What was the biggest challenge getting him to go into different animations? Thanks.

Thanks Zivouhr! Yeah, I'm using the Switch State method :) and honestly nothing has really been to complicated yet. If I had to pick though it would be getting the player to fall from a wallslide if he reaches the bottom of the wall.
I set that up through the actual Player Actor, not the players Collision Box using "Collision Free" and what not. Not the way I would prefer to do it, But it seems to be working out okay!

Hey guys. I'm finally getting involved in the boards here. You might have seen my artwork for Olo the Sword Shaman. I'm excited to be involved in RippeR's new project StickMcGee spearheading the character animation and environment design! Stay tuned for concept art and other progress!

Nice dynamic energy to those stick figure drawings with the weapons.

RipperR, thanks for the info. Glad the programming is going well so far! Enjoy. :D

@Zivouhr - Thanks man! and anytime. I enjoy asking/answering questions about technical parts of programming!

@ZeldaFan - Haha I didn't intend to make the movement look so much like Mega-Man, But the game will feel and I guess sort of play(The whole blaster concept) alot like it in the end!

@JamesLeonardo32 - Thanks man! Any playable progress on the new Axria yet!?

Posted a couple more Concept Images on the first page as well.

Cool. The different blasters look interesting. Will they work against all enemies to different degrees, or will each one affect a different enemy?

So right now the plan is that enemies will have certain "Types" that certain Blasters will affect more(Aqua Blaster > Fire Enemy), but since the different Blasters are just Iron shots fused with different elements, they will do at least some damage to every enemy. But with some tweaking we might change it haha

Sounds cool. That will make the weapons more meaningful in the game.
Kind of how Mega Man's certain weapons are more effective on certain bosses.

Exactly haha! Metroid/castlevania/megaman! Basically the three games I'm trying to make Blast to the Future look and feel like. Everybody loves at least one of those game series, right? :)

Metroid/castlevania/megaman

Fan of all 3, yes. Castlevania being the toughest one IMO, since Simon's jump is limited. Megaman is tough too. Metroid is a fun adventure game.

Hey there guys, sorry for the lack of communication these last few months. I've decided that GE isn't going to be the engine this game is built on.. as much as I love GE and the community around it, it's just not quite... powerful enough? A little out dated, and the future looks kinda dark hah... but I'll definitely keep checking back here occasionally to see the great games you guys are creating! And as soon as I start working on this project again (currently doing something with Margamoth) I'll definitely post links and stuff if that's okay with you, Sky.

Sorry for the bad news guys :(

The best of luck, and merry Christmas all!
